The event was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Krishna Prasad,Teacher-in-Charge, and with the support of Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal-in-Charge.

The event commenced with a soulful prayer and Acharyavandanam led by Rajitha K. , Sneha H. and Anjitha P. S., setting a positive and reverent tone for the programme.

Compering:
The event was gracefully compered by Malavika U.,who ensured the smooth flow of the programme.
Pledge and newspaper reading:
The pledge was given by Hafsana A. H. and news reading by Sagaravarsha K.

Thought Presentation:
The message of the day – “ Never say no , never say , I cannot, for you are infinite. All the power is within you. You can do anything” was insightfully presented by Arya Lakshmi Rajan. Later, principal in charge Prof Dr Smitha R read the preamble and delivered its importance.

Conclusion:
The programme concluded with the National Anthem, fostering a sense of unity and patriotism.

Aparna Nair kicked off the “Thought For the Day” event organised by 2nd‑year B.Ed English students at NSS Training College, Ottapalam, by introducing the topic (“Celebrate Your Unique Talent – Embrace, Share, & Own Your Abilities”). Aswathi M then discussed the day’s agenda and highlighted its importance. Gayathri R Nair followed by sharing experiences from their recently completed teaching practice, linking them back to the presented theme. The “Thought for the Day” programme was successfully conducted on 17th November 2025 at 9:30 am in the General Hall of NSS Training College, Ottapalam.

The programme was organized by the M.Ed. First Year Students.   

The day’s thought was based on the inspiring theme: “Thought for the day - The Beauty of Learning is that no one can take it away from you." 

Programme schedule and highlights :

The programme began with a soulful prayer and Acharyavandanam led by Bhagya R and
Rohina.

Compering: The session was smoothly compered by  Shibila.


Topic presentation:

      The highlight of the programme was the thoughtful presentation on the topic by Suchithra and Rachithra. The theme of the program, "The Beauty of Learning is that no one can take it away from you." emphasizes learning possesses a unique and enduring beauty. It is the one possession that remains truly yours, no matter what happens in life. Skills, knowledge, and understanding gained through learning cannot be stolen, lost, or taken away. This intrinsic permanence empowers individuals, giving them confidence and resilience as they adapt to new challenges and persist in their personal or professional growth. The value of learning far exceeds material possessions, making it a timeless source of strength and inspiration.

THE KITE RUNNER

The NSS Training College, Ottapalam, organized a Book Review session on November 7, 2025, at 9:30 AM in the General Hall of the college. The event focused on the critically acclaimed novel The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, aiming to foster a culture of reading and critical analysis among the students.

The session was presented by Haneena Mol C and Athira Haridas, who provided an in-depth exploration of the book's themes, including friendship, betrayal, redemption, and the socio-political backdrop of Afghanistan. The presenters highlighted the emotional depth of the narrative and the author’s mastery in portraying complex human relationships.

           

The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Mridula K., Teacher-in-Charge, and Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal-in-Charge. Their leadership continues to encourage academic discourse and literary appreciation within the institution.

The review was followed by an interactive discussion where students shared their perspectives on the book’s impact. The session successfully engaged the audience, sparking interest in contemporary literature and providing a platform for students to hone their presentation and analytical skills.

The Department of Physical Science at N.S.S. Training College, Ottapalam, successfully organized a session of the "Thought for the Day" program on November 6, 2025. The event, held at the college General Hall, commenced at 9:30 AM and was designed to provide an intellectual and ethical framework for the day’s academic pursuits. Centered on the philosophical maxim of Marcus Aurelius—“The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts”—the session emphasized the critical role of cognitive discipline and optimism in the professional and personal lives of educators.

                                           

The proceedings initiated with a solemn Prayer and Acharyavandanam, led by Anupama K. P. and Anagha S. Raj, fostering a dignified environment conducive to reflection. The session was efficiently moderated by Athira T. N., whose professional compering facilitated a structured and engaging flow of events. The keynote presentation was delivered by Anirudh R. and Aleena Fathima S. E., who offered a comprehensive analysis of the day’s theme. Their discourse highlighted the psychological impact of thought patterns on teaching efficacy and student-teacher interactions, urging the audience to cultivate a mindset of resilience and positivity.

The program was conducted under the academic supervision of Dr. Sreevidya Nair N. (Teacher in Charge) and received the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R. (Principal in Charge). This initiative stands as a testament to the Physical Science Department's commitment to the holistic development of teacher trainees, reinforcing the importance of mental well-being and ethical reflection within the pedagogical landscape of N.S.S. The B.Ed. First Year Mathematics optional students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam organized a Book Review Programme on “Kaali”, a collection of short stories written by Ashwathi Sreekanth. The event was held on 31st October 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the General Hall of the college.


The programme began with a prayer led by Varsha S and Anusree M P, followed by a warm welcome and introduction. The session was compered by Aswani Vijayan, who guided the proceedings efficiently and added vibrancy to the event.


The review was presented by Abisha S Anilkumar and Serene Stanley K, who gave an insightful analysis of the book “Kaali.” They elaborated on the diverse themes explored in the stories — including womanhood, self-discovery, relationships, and the subtle nuances of human emotions. The IT Club of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, in collaboration with the 1st Year English Optional students, organized a session under the programme "App for the Week" on 17 October 2025. The event took place in the General Hall of the college and commenced at 9:30 AM.


The focus of this week’s session was the mobile application Supernova AI Spoken English, a tool designed to enhance English communication skills using artificial intelligence. The session was presented by Ms. Meera P., who provided a detailed demonstration of the app’s features, including interactive speaking activities, AI-based pronunciation feedback, vocabulary builders, and practice modules.


Ms. Meera explained how the app can be effectively used by learners to develop fluency, confidence, and practical spoken English skills. She also highlighted the relevance of technology-based language learning in modern education. The presentation was engaging and informative, offering hands-on guidance to participants.


Students actively participated in the programme and clarified their doubts regarding usage, accessibility, and benefits of the application. The session concluded with positive feedback, and many participants expressed interest in integrating the app into their learning routine.

The main presentation on the topic was conducted by Preena P and Shravya S, who highlighted the significance of saying “no” in maintaining self-respect, managing stress, and prioritizing personal well-being.
