The programme was coordinated by the B.Ed English Optional students under the supervision of Mrs. Seema C, Teacher in Charge, and was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal in Charge.

The assembly commenced with a prayer by Sneha P, Sneha R, and Akshaya K, which created a calm and positive atmosphere.


Pledge:

The national pledge was led by Rajlakshmi K, instilling a spirit of the unity, integrity, and patriotism among the gathering.


News Reading:

Meera P. presented the day’s news, updating the audience on current affairs, giving students an overview of important national and international updates.



Thought for the Day:

An inspiring thought was shared by Krishnapriya C.K, encouraging everyone to begin the day with positivity and determination.


Achievements:

The College Assembly held at NSS Training College, Ottapalam on August 27, 2025, was a well-coordinated event organized by the 1st Year Physical Science optional students. The assembly took place at 9:30 AM in the college auditorium, where students, faculty, and staff gathered to participate in a thoughtfully planned series of programs aimed at fostering unity, motivation, and a spirit of achievement among the student community


The event commenced with a solemn prayer led by Harsha H Mohan and Jomol P J, invoking a sense of peace and readiness for the proceedings. Following the prayer, Nayana S administered the pledge, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility and commitment to personal and academic growth. Sreenidhi Gopinath took the stage to present the latest news, keeping everyone informed and engaged with current events, while Navaneetha H inspired the assembly with an uplifting thought for the day that encouraged positive thinking and perseverance. In the next part of the program, Joshna Joshy K addressed the audience.



A significant aspect of the assembly was the segment devoted to honouring students for their outstanding achievements. This act of recognition not only celebrated individual successes but also served as an inspiration for peers to pursue excellence in academic, cultural, and extracurricular endeavors. Special mention was given to those Students by Urmila Unnikrishnan for their notable achievements, setting a benchmark for others to seek greatness in their respective fields



Under the guidance of Mr. Krishna Prasad, Teacher-in-Charge, and Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal-in-Charge, the event was executed smoothly and efficiently, reflecting the strong organizational skills and leadership qualities of the faculty and students involved. The program focused on motivating students to embrace their individuality and develop confidence in their own potential. It highlighted the importance of self-belief in achieving personal and professional success. The topic resonated well with the participants and encouraged them to reflect on their inner strengths.

Prayer & Acharyavandanam: The event commenced with a soulful prayer and Acharyavandanam led by Fathima Shifa V and Mahira Thesni, setting a respectful and positive tone for the program.


Compèring: The session was effectively anchored by Annarose K Anto, who maintained the smooth flow and engagement of the event.


Topic Presentation: The main theme was thoughtfully presented by Akshaydev A and Haneena Mol C K, who delivered an inspiring presentation on the significance of being true to oneself and believing in one’s abilities. Their words left a lasting impression on the audience.

The “Thought for the Day” programme was organized by the First-Year Mathematics optional students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam on 25th August 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the General Hall.



The session began with a Prayer and Acharyavandanam, led by Athira Krishnan C.K. and Aswani Vijayan, creating a serene and respectful atmosphere. Navya J took charge as the compere and smoothly coordinated the entire programme.



The day’s topic was “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” This inspiring theme highlighted the importance of lifelong learning, self-motivation, and the continuous pursuit of new aspirations irrespective of age.



The presentation was delivered by Abisha S. Anilkumar and Darshana K, who effectively elaborated on the significance of perseverance, determination, and optimism in achieving new goals. Their speech encouraged students to nurture big dreams and to face challenges with confidence.

The programme began with a soulful prayer by Ranjini R and Malavika VS, setting a calm and uplifting atmosphere. This was followed by Acharyavandanam presented by the same team, as a mark of reverence towards teachers and the teaching profession.

The session was smoothly compered by Sahala Thasnem K , ensuring the programme’s seamless flow. The thematic presentation was delivered by A Rinsiya and Nimmi Manoj, who shared motivating thoughts on the importance of resilience, hope, and embracing each new day as an opportunity to improve and grow.

The B.Ed Malayalam Optional students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, organized a thoughtful programme titled "Thought for the Day" on 12th August 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the General Hall. The theme of the programme was :

Ragging doesn’t break the ice, it breaks lives.

The programme commenced with a solemn Prayer and Acharyavandanam, led by Namitha. C and Upasana U, invoking an atmosphere of reverence and dignity. Varsha G S, effectively compered the session.

The theme presentation was delivered in two parts:

Praveena A P, addressed the audience on the social impact of ragging, drawing attention to various cases reported in Kerala. She emphasized how ragging continues to be a grave social issue, affecting students’ academic lives, mental health, and interpersonal relationships.

Niveditha K V, focused on the legal framework against ragging, explaining the legal remedies available to students. She highlighted relevant IPC sections and anti-ragging regulations, stressing the accountability of institutions and the legal consequences for offenders. Her session provided a strong awareness about the preventive and corrective measures embedded in law. The event concluded with the National Anthem.


The programme was coordinated under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Seema Menon K.P., Teacher-in-charge, and supported by Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal-in-charge, whose leadership and encouragement ensured the success of the event.

The presentation highlighted the benefits of social media, such as providing platforms for self-expression, networking, and awareness creation. However, it also addressed its adverse effects, including cyberbullying, comparison-induced anxiety, reduced attention span, and sleep disruption. The speakers stressed the importance of mindful usage, digital detox practices, and promoting healthy online habits to safeguard mental well-being.

The B.Ed. English Optional students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, successfully organised a Book Review Programme on "Atomic Habits" by James Clear on 8 August 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the General Hall.

The event commenced with a prayer and Acharyavandanam rendered by Meera and Sneha P.


Compeering: The programme was smoothly anchored by Meera Krishna K.


Topic Presentation:

The main presentation was delivered by Krishnapriya C.K. and Rajlaxmi K, who explained how slight changes in our daily habits can lead to remarkable transformations in life, drawing insights from Atomic Habits.


The review began with an introduction to the author, highlighting James Clear’s expertise in habit formation and personal development. The central message of the book—that small, consistent changes lead to remarkable results—was clearly articulated.


The presenters elaborated on the Four Laws of Behaviour Change outlined in the book:


1. Make it obvious – Clearly identify the habit you wish to develop.



2. Make it attractive – Link habits to positive emotions or rewards.



3. Make it easy – Reduce friction and simplify the process.



4. Make it satisfying – Reinforce habits with a sense of accomplishment.




Real-life examples and relatable scenarios were used to illustrate how these principles can be applied in daily life—ranging from improving study routines to embracing healthier lifestyles. The presentation also touched upon the concept of compound growth of habits, showing how tiny, consistent improvements each day can lead to significant long-term changes
