College Open Assembly October 14 2026

College Assembly Organised by B.Ed. First Year English Students

N.S.S. Training College, Ottapalam

The B.Ed. First Year English students of N.S.S. Training College, Ottapalam, organised a college assembly on 14 October at 9:30 a.m. in the college auditorium. The assembly provided an opportunity for students to develop their confidence, leadership qualities, communication skills, and sense of responsibility.

The programme commenced with a prayer and Acharyavandanam, presented by Vipin K.V., Sneha M., and Ardhra M. Their participation created a peaceful and respectful atmosphere for the gathering. The assembly was compered by Sreenandhini C.N., who guided the programme smoothly through its different segments.

The Thought for the Day, delivered by Ardhra M., offered an inspiring message to the audience and encouraged everyone to begin the day with positive thoughts. This was followed by the pledge, administered by Rabeea, which reminded the students of their duties, responsibilities, and commitment to the values of the nation.

An important segment of the assembly was newspaper reading, presented by Hima S Dev. This activity highlighted the importance of staying informed about current affairs and developing a regular reading habit. It also emphasised the role of newspapers in improving vocabulary, language proficiency, critical thinking, and awareness of the world around us.

The assembly concluded with the National Anthem, marking the end of the programme with a sense of unity and patriotism.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Mr. Krishna Prasad K.P., Teacher Coordinator, and Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar K., Principal-in-Charge. The active involvement of the student organisers and participants contributed to the smooth and meaningful conduct of the assembly.

A college assembly is more than a regular gathering; it is a platform for learning beyond the classroom. Activities such as prayer, thought sharing, pledge-taking, and newspaper reading help students cultivate discipline, confidence, social awareness, and leadership skills. For future teachers, such experiences are particularly valuable, as they prepare them to organise school assemblies and create meaningful learning experiences for their students.

The assembly concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and active participation in college life.

“Every assembly is an opportunity to learn, lead, and grow together.”
