The Department of Physical Science (First Year) of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, organised a “Thought for the Day” programme on 27th October 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the General Hall. The programme aimed to ins

pire students with positive thoughts and to promote moral and emotional values among future educators.

The topic for the day was “Kindness is the Language Everyone Understands.” The session began with a Prayer and Acharyavandanam led by Anagha S. Raj and Nayana S., setting a serene and reflective tone for the event. Vyshnavi G. served as the compere, ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.

                                

A meaningful presentation on the day’s thought was delivered by Sreenidhi Gopinath and Urmila Unnikrishnan, who beautifully conveyed the importance of kindness as a universal virtue that bridges hearts and transcends all barriers. Their presentation highlighted how small acts of compassion can create a lasting positive impact in personal and professional life, especially in the teaching profession.



The event concluded with the National Anthem, marking the end of a reflective and value-oriented session. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. M. P. Ravishankar, Teacher-in-Charge, and Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal-in-Charge.

The session successfully reminded everyone that kindness is a simple yet powerful tool for understanding and harmony. It encouraged the students to cultivate empathy and humanity in their interactions, reinforcing the college’s mission to shape socially responsible and compassionate educators.

Report:

A motivational programme titled Thought for the Day on the topic “The Power of Mind Determines Our Destiny” was conducted by the B.Ed. Natural Science students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, on 23rd October 2025. The event commenced with a prayer and Acharyavandanam by Athira Haridas and Angel Joshy.


The programme was hosted by Gowripriya and included inspiring presentations by Amrutha K and Kavya Krishna. They highlighted how a positive and determined mind can overcome obstacles and shape one’s destiny. Through examples and reflections, they motivated the audience to nurture self-belief, perseverance, and optimism in achieving success.



The event inspired students to recognise the power of their thoughts and mental strength in shaping their personal and academic growth. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

The B.Ed English Optional students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, organized a “Thought for the Day” program on 14th October 2025 at 9:30 AM in the General Hall. 

The topic for the Thought for the day was was “Learn to Say No.” The thought aimed to instill the importance of setting healthy boundaries and developing assertive communication among students.


The program commenced with a Prayer and Acharyavandanam rendered by Meera Krishna K, Krishnapriya C.K, and Aneena M, creating a serene and positive atmosphere. 


The session was compered by Krishna Damodar, who efficiently guided the proceedings.


The main presentation on the topic was conducted by Preena P and Shravya S, who highlighted the significance of saying “no” in maintaining self-respect, managing stress, and prioritizing personal well-being. 


The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar K, Teacher-in-charge, and Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal-in-charge. Their support and encouragement contributed greatly to the success of the program.

The “Thought for the Day” programme was successfully conducted on 13th October 2025 at 9:30 am in the General Hall of NSS Training College, Ottapalam.

The programme was organized by the M.Ed. First Year Students.   

The day’s thought was based on the inspiring theme: “Every new day is another chance to change your                                                                                         life"


Programme schedule and highlights :

The programme began with a soulful prayer and Acharyavandanam led by Aleena John and
Hemambika K.

Compering: The session was smoothly compered by  Midhila M Nair.


Topic presentation:

      The highlight of the programme was the thoughtful presentation on the topic by Anjana P and Devika K U. The theme of the program, "Every New Day Is Another Chance to Change Your Life," emphasizes positivity, growth, and renewal. It inspires individuals to view each day as a fresh opportunity to improve themselves, make better choices, and pursue personal and academic goals. This theme encourages an attitude of hope and resilience, reminding everyone that change and progress are possible, no matter what has happened in the past. By focusing on daily opportunities for self-improvement, the program aims to motivate students and staff to embrace each day with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and grow.

Their words encouraged students to embrace challenges and view discomfort as a path to progress. It not only reminded the audience of the importance of resilience and courage in facing life’s hurdles but also motivated everyone to apply the message in their own lives.

Report:

The Natural Science Association of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, organised an awareness class on Amoebic Meningoencephalitis on 22nd September 2025 in the General Hall. The session began with a prayer  and Acharyavandanam by Amrutha and Krishnaveni. The event was efficiently compered by Fathima Shifa.


The awareness session was presented by Annarose K Anto and Mahira Thesni, who provided valuable insights into the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures of Amoebic Meningoencephalitis—a rare but fatal brain infection caused by Naegleria fowleri. They emphasized the importance of personal hygiene, safe water practices, and early diagnosis for effective treatment.





The class helped students understand the significance of health awareness and preventive actions in combating infectious diseases. The event concluded with the National Anthem.

BOOK REVIEW AND APP FOR THE WEEK

 The B.Ed. Natural Science optional students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam conducted two innovative academic programmes on 19th September 2025 in the General Hall.

1. Book Review – Kappirikalude Naattil by S. K. Pottekkatt

On 19th September 2025, a book review session was conducted by Navya B and Treesamol C. J., B.Ed. Natural Science optional students. They reviewed the famous travelogue Kappirikalude Naattil written by S. K. Pottekkatt, which describes the author’s experiences and observations in Africa. The presentation gave students an insight into the literary richness, cultural perspectives, and travel writing style of the author.








Both the programmes were coordinated under the guidance of Dr. K. S. Sajan, IT Club coordinator, and Dr. Mridula K, Teacher-in-Charge. The sessions were well-received and provided valuable academic enrichment to the student community.



2. App for the Week – “Flo”

On 19th September 2025, the IT Club and Natural Science students jointly organized the “App for the Week” programme. The app introduced was “Flo”, presented by Aswathi K P




The session explained the uses, features, and relevance of the app, especially in the field of health and wellness. The programme helped students become aware of how technology can be applied for better personal and social well-being.
