The College Assembly of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, was conducted on 20th August 2025 at 9:30 AM in the college open auditorium. The event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Sankaranarayanan Paleeri, Teacher-in-Charge, and was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal-in-Charge. The assembly was coordinated by the B.Ed English Optional students.


Programme Overview:


Prayer:

The assembly commenced with a prayer by Krishna Damodar and Jisha K J, which created a calm and positive atmosphere.


Pledge:

The national pledge was led by Sravya, instilling a spirit of unity and patriotism among the gathering.


News Reading:



A Remsiya presented the day’s news, updating the audience on current affairs, giving students an overview of important national and international updates.


Thought for the Day:



An inspiring thought was shared by Anagha Surendran, motivating everyone to embrace the day with positivity and determination.


Addressing the Gathering:



Preena P, addressed the gathering smoothly coordinating the sequence of events and engaging the audience throughout the programme.


National Anthem:

The assembly concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, leaving the participants with a strong sense of national pride and togetherness.


The programme was well-organized and successfully carried out, reflecting the dedication and teamwork of the B.Ed English Optional students. It served as a platform for enhancing student participation, leadership, and communication skills while strengthening the spirit of unity within the college.

Report on Thought for the Day Programme

The B.Ed. Social  Science students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, successfully organised an inspiring Thought for the Day session on 19th August 2025 at 9:30 AM in the General Hall of the college. The theme of the event was:

  "Break limits: great things never come from comfort zone"


  

The programme began with a soulful prayer by Ranjini R and Malavika VS, setting a calm and uplifting atmosphere. This was followed by Acharyavandanam presented by the same team, as a mark of reverence towards teachers and the teaching profession.

The session was smoothly compered by Sahala Thasnem K , ensuring the programme’s seamless flow. The thematic presentation was delivered by A Rinsiya and Nimmi Manoj, who shared motivating thoughts on the importance of resilience, hope, and embracing each new day as an opportunity to improve and grow.

 

The event concluded with the National Anthem, filling the hall with a sense of unity and pride.

 

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Minikumari D (Teacher in Charge) and Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R (Principal in Charge). The session left a positive and energising impact, reminding all present of the power of new beginnings.

The B.Ed. Natural Science students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, successfully organised an inspiring Thought for the Day session on 14th August 2025 at 9:30 AM in the General Hall of the college. The theme of the event was:

The programme began with a soulful prayer by Navya B and Aswathi KP, setting a calm and uplifting atmosphere. This was followed by Acharyavandanam presented by the same team, as a mark of reverence towards teachers and the teaching profession.

The B.Ed. English Optional students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, successfully organised a Thought for the Day programme on "Social Media and Mental Health" on 11 August 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the General Hall.

Programme Schedule and Highlights:


The event began with prayer and Acharyavandanam rendered by Sneha V. and Sneha R. 


Compeering: The programme was smoothly anchored by Safeena C. 


Topic Presentation:

The main presentation was delivered by Aneena M. and Akshaya K., who explored the various ways social media impacts mental health, both positively and negatively.


The presentation highlighted the benefits of social media, such as providing platforms for self-expression, networking, and awareness creation. However, it also addressed its adverse effects, including cyberbullying, comparison-induced anxiety, reduced attention span, and sleep disruption. The speakers stressed the importance of mindful usage, digital detox practices, and promoting healthy online habits to safeguard mental well-being.


Acknowledgment:


The programme was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Seema Menon K. P., Teacher-in-Charge, and presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R., Principal-in-Charge.


The session encouraged critical thinking among students, sparking an interactive discussion on how young adults can balance their digital presence without compromising mental health. The B.Ed. English Optional students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, successfully organised a Book Review Programme on "Atomic Habits" by James Clear on 8 August 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the General Hall.


Programme Schedule and Highlights


The event commenced with a prayer and Acharyavandanam rendered by Meera and Sneha P.


Compeering: The programme was smoothly anchored by Meera Krishna K.


Topic Presentation:

The main presentation was delivered by Krishnapriya C.K. and Rajlaxmi K, who explained how slight changes in our daily habits can lead to remarkable transformations in life, drawing insights from Atomic Habits.


The review began with an introduction to the author, highlighting James Clear’s expertise in habit formation and personal development. The central message of the book—that small, consistent changes lead to remarkable results—was clearly articulated.


The presenters elaborated on the Four Laws of Behaviour Change outlined in the book:


1. Make it obvious – Clearly identify the habit you wish to develop.



2. Make it attractive – Link habits to positive emotions or rewards.



3. Make it easy – Reduce friction and simplify the process.



4. Make it satisfying – Reinforce habits with a sense of accomplishment.




Real-life examples and relatable scenarios were used to illustrate how these principles can be applied in daily life—ranging from improving study routines to embracing healthier lifestyles. The presentation also touched upon the concept of compound growth of habits, showing how tiny, consistent improvements each day can lead to significant long-term changes

 Sunaina P C , addressed the audience and announced the achievement secured by Pooja V, of BEd First year student of Social Science optional , achieving First rank in MA Political Science from Kannur University.
