The B.Ed. Mathematics Optional students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, successfully organised a Thought for the Day programme on "The Role of Technology in Education " on 29 July 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the General Hall.

Programme Schedule and Highlights:

The event began with prayer and Acharyavandanam rendered by Anu Krishna.A.P and Serene Stanley.K
Compering: The programme was smoothly anchored by Meera.P


Topic Presentation:

The main presentation on the topic was delivered by Nithya C and Varsha S, who discussed various aspects of technological integration in education, including digital tools, e-learning platforms, and the advantages and challenges of tech-driven pedagogy. Their talk effectively conveyed how technology can enhance student engagement, accessibility, and overall learning outcomes.

Technology has transformed almost every aspect of our lives, and education is no exception.Today, digital tools have expanded the boundaries of education far beyond those walls.Technology breaks geographical barriers. With online platforms like Google Classroom, Zoom, and learning apps, students can access lessons from anywhere in the world.Smartboards, virtual labs, educational games, and multimedia presentations make lessons more dynamic.Artificial Intelligence (AI) and adaptive learning software can tailor lessons to suit each student’s pace and ability.Technology enables students and teachers to collaborate beyond the classroom. Technology also provides instant feedback through online quizzes and analytics, helping teachers track progress.Emerging trends like Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and AI tutors will create immersive, interactive learning environments. These advancements promise to make education more flexible,personalised and engaging.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of prof.(Dr.) Suresh Kumar K, Teacher-in-Charge, and presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R., Principal-in-Charge.

In conclusion, the session proved to be insightful and thought-provoking, inspiring the audience to adopt innovative teaching methods while maintaining a balance between human interaction and technological advancement in eduction.
